The stone’s multi-hued coloring pulls together the different elements of this kitchen, seamlessly melding the two-toned cabinetry and four different tiles into one cohesive look. This island, with its dramatic waterfall countertop, adds a stunning focal point to this white and wood kitchen. We can’t seem to get enough of this statement-kitchen feature, and it seems that designers can’t either. White Waterfall Kitchen Island with White Shakers and Brass Details. Waterfall islands are often made out of a horizontal edge, also known as a counter, extending vertically down to the ground below. “Waterfall edges are best when creating a miter edge that is a 45-degree cut on both sides of the stone connecting the surface with the waterfall leg.” “This style requires a precise cut in order to achieve a perfect seam,” she says. So what is a waterfall countertop, exactly? The edge (which can be composed of granite, quartz, even wood) flows down vertically all the way to the floor instead of stopping at the edge of a cabinet or island, something Shapiro says takes true craftsmanship. “It’s similar to having a full height backsplash instead of the standard four-inch to extend the beauty of stone in the design space.” ![]() “Waterfall edges can elevate any space, bringing a continuous flow of color, texture, and countertop detailing,” says CaesarStone’s Lori Shapiro. With an edge that cascades seamlessly to the floor, this expanse of stone can be a decadent focal point that links floor design with cabinetry. While one might be well advised not to go chasing waterfalls ( so the saying goes), we’re all about that over here in the design world because nothing captures our marble-loving hearts like waterfall countertops.

He added 365 receiving yards to top 5,000 scrimmage yards overall with Washington in his four years there. He totaled 4,713 yards in 64 games for the Redskins, scoring 29 touchdowns. As noted above, he also holds the single-season rushing record. Morris is in the top five all-time in franchise history for rushing yards and is ranked seventh in rushing touchdowns. Even though Morris played for the Redskins for just four seasons, he left an unquestionable mark on the franchise. Ironically, Matt Jones didn’t pan out in DC, and the Redskins haven’t been able to find a reliable primary back since Morris left town. Elliott’s rookie season, in which he put up numbers very similar to Morris’ debut year, relegated Morris to permanent back-up status (excluding injuries or suspensions, of course). He quickly struck a deal with the Cowboys, but, unfortunately for Morris, Dallas also decided to draft Ezekiel Elliott later that summer. ![]() The Redskins parted company with Morris prior to the 2016 season, declining to re-sign him. Jones’ perceived versatility, and his status as a Gruden guy, sealed Morris’ fate. Although Morris ran for more yards per carry than Jones, Jones’ total scrimmage yards were almost as high as Morris’ thanks to some long receptions out of the backfield. Meanwhile, rookie Matt Jones got 144 carries. He ran for 751 yards on a career-low 202 carries. Morris was again productive, but he failed to reach 1,000 yards for the first time in his career. Morris had been a Mike Shanahan player, and it wasn’t clear what impact the switch in offensive philosophies would have for Morris, long-term. Yet, the Redskins were a team in transition, now with a new coach in Jay Gruden. Morris suited up for his second Pro Bowl and ran for 1,000 yards for the third straight season in 2014, adding eight touchdowns. Even as Washington’s fortunes went south, Morris maintained his productive play, running for 1,275 yards and seven touchdowns. Morris continued his success the following year. Specifically, in a division-clinching, season-ending game against the hated Dallas Cowboys, Morris ran for 200 yards and three touchdowns on 33 carries to lead the Redskins to a 28-18 victory. Morris was a huge part of the Redskins rallying from a 3-6 start to take the NFC East title. The only reason Morris didn’t win Rookie of the Year in 2012 is because his own teammate, Robert Griffin III, did so. Morris burst onto the NFL scene with a record-setting rookie campaign, rushing for an all-time franchise-best 1,613 yards and scoring 13 touchdowns. On the other hand, Morris averaged over 1,000 yards per season during his time in Washington. Excluding the 1,154 yards he gained in ‘06, his best seasonal rushing total was 371 yards. Outside of his sterling effort filling in for an injured Clinton Portis in 2006, Betts was a very good back-up. But there’s no question in my mind that Morris has the stronger Redskins resume, even in his relatively short time in D.C. Ladell Betts, who ran for over 1,000 yards in 2006, actually has a higher “Approximate Value” than Alfred Morris, according to Pro Football Reference. ![]() Number 46 on our list presents some legitimate competition. ![]() One of the worst kept secrets in Hollywood prior to the film’s release, the reveal of Blofeld (played by Christoph Waltz) is nowhere near as impactful as it should have been. That’s a shame, too, because it opens with a memorably spectacular sequence set during Mexico City's Día de Muertos celebrations, before picking up some of the previous movies’ loose threads, and ties them together in fairly captivating fashion. Bond movies are supposed to be enjoyable affairs and, this one isn't. ![]() Quantum of Solace may have suffered from events outside of its control, as well as being the follow-up to the much lauded Casino Royale, but it loses sight of the series’ ‘license to thrill’ mantra. As the shortest Bond flick ever made, Quantum of Solace also boasts a distinct but welcome lack of filler material and elaborate exposition. Judi Dench’s M delivers a memorable performance, too, as the moral counterpoint to Craig’s 007. Craig does a good job as an emotionally wounded Bond out for revenge after the events of Casino Royale. There are some things to like about Quantum of Solace. The movie’s editing, too, hampers its story and makes for a disjointed entry. It’s overstuffed with product placement, the film’s villain – Mathieu Amalric’s Dominic Greene – and theme song ('Another Way to Die' by Jack White and Alicia Keys) are largely forgettable, and its plot is messy. Quantum of Solace’s development was hit hard by the 2008 Writers Guild of America strike, which led to some of its biggest scenes being written and shot on the day they were filmed.Įven with those mitigating circumstances, Quantum of Solace isn’t a top tier Bond movie. "Kingdom Coming" appears in two MGM animated cartoons directed by Tex Avery, The Three Little Pups, (with Droopy) and Billy Boy, as well as in Michael Lah's Blackboard Jumble and Sheep Wrecked. The lyrics of "Kingdom Coming" are written in plantation creole, an obsolete slave dialect that preceded African American vernacular English, and the words are now rarely sung. Work also wrote the song "Babylon is Fallen" ("Don't you see the black clouds risin' ober yonder") which sees the American Civil War from the perspective of the black U.S. The slaves then celebrate their impending emancipation by Union soldiers by drinking their absent owner's cider and wine in his kitchen. With their owner absent, the slaves revolt, locking their overseer in a cellar as retribution for his harsh treatment toward them. They speculate on the future fate of the owner, whom they suspect will pretend to be a runaway slave in order to avoid capture. The song is pro- Unionist, and the lyrics are sung from the point of view of slaves in Confederate territory, who celebrate their impending freedom after their master flees the approach of Union military forces.
